Music That Matters is the overseeing non-profit arm of the Kate White Band and other artists working to bring hope and encouragement to broken people. MTM is a Department of A.C.T. Int’l, a larger organization of Artists seeking community transformation. Kate comes from a history of abuse and brokenness that has given her a heart for hurting people. The Kate White Band goes into prisons, shelters, youth detention facilities, addiction recovery homes and schools sharing Kate and the band's compelling and honest stories through song and word. Their vision is to reach the lost and hurting through their music and help other artists do the same, bringing people to an understanding of God's love, hope and mercy. MTM also partners with other organizations seeking to help the broken and abused through fundraisers, songwriting / professional recording and benefit concerts.
2014 Third Annual Golf Marathon, June 28th
The Music That Matters Golf Marathon benefits Music That Matters (the Kate White Band and other artists) and our mission to bring hope to the broken and hurting in our world.
This may sound crazy, and you may think we're nuts, but we need you to play 100 holes of golf with us on Saturday, June 28th at Fairway Village Golf Course. With participation from 20 volunteers, $50,000 or more can be raised in the next few weeks to support Music That Matters and those they serve in prisons, shelters, youth detention facilities, addiction recovery homes and schools.
Last year, 16 committed participants, golfers and non-golfers raised over $22,000 in pledges! This year, we need 20+ passionate champions wanting to help support Music That Matters and our mission of hope. We have made a commitment and now WE NEED YOU! Right now, we are putting together our Team and we want you on it! We promise you, this will not take a lot of your time! We need volunteers who will commit to following the instructions of this proven program, raising significant dollars to serve the broken and hurting in our communities. You can even win some great prizes!
You can be a "MTM Golf Marathon Participant". Here is what we are asking each "Participant" to commit to:
1. Show up on June 28th (breakfast and lunch included) at Fairway Village Golf Course to play your 100 holes of golf in just 4 HOURS!* Not as hard as it may seem as we tweak the rule book and have some unique fun on a reserved course all to ourselves.
2. Sponsor yourself for at least $1/hole ($100), and
3. Raise a min. of $24 more per hole from your spheres of influence by asking others to match or exceed your pledge. This is easier than you think, as people will want to support your commitment to help the hopeless and hurting. This can be done in less than 5 hours between now and the event date!
"Can I participate if I can't be there on June 28th...or if I don't golf?"
NO PROBLEM! Just make your pledge, reach out to your circle of influence asking others to match your pledge; and you can be part of the campaign. As a non-golfing Champion YOU can still win prizes and most of all make a BIG different for Music That Matters!
You can be a "MTM Golf Marathon Team Captain!" We need 6-10 Team Captains to accomplish the above 1-2-3 and put together a team of 4 (including self) Participants.
We have created a website for this campaign and it is the key to our success - where you enter your sponsor's pledge information (you do not have to collect any monies, just get pledges from those you know: your friends, family, associates) and the site will send them a big thank you, tax deductible letter, and where they can send their sponsorship of you.
People give to People. All you have to do is ASK for help in this all out endeavor with Music That Matters.
