Bio

title Kate is a concert artist, worship leader, songwriter, violinist and speaker. She and her band have a passion for the lost and hurting and this is reflected in their music and ministry.   In sharing about her music, Kate says, “ I believe God is calling me to write from an honest place – songs of life, faith, humility and surrender. ”  Kate’s sound is an acoustic blend of folk-rock, celtic, bluegrass and country and is often compared to Alison Krauss and Nora Jones.

Kate grew up playing classically as well as singing and playing fiddle in her family’s bluegrass band.  Her love for music as a way to express her heart grew throughout those early years.  Kate’s music ministry includes nearly 10 years in Budapest, Hungary, where she participated on local, national and international worship teams and recorded 2 projects.  Upon returning to the states, she got firmly established in NW music ministry and started her own band.

Kate has just completed her new CD, “TURNING PAGES” and has already received a tremendous response since it’s release.  Kate says, “This album really represents where I am at in life right now.  It’s very creative and continues to infuse my acoustic feel with some pop/country styling.  There are a lot of story songs on this project about life, love, worship, struggle and celebration – no matter what life brings, I want my life to count – to make a difference…”

Kate’s prior album, HERE, is a mingling of Celtic, Hungarian and folk influences and has landed her Canadian retail and radio distribution along with national and international airplay.  Her song, “Quiet Place” took 2nd place nationally in it’s genre at the 2005 GMA Music In The Rockies, “Lay It Down” was #4 on the top 10 Inspirational Charts in the UK, September of 2007, and her songs “Here” and “We Will” will be featured in the 2009 movie, “Faith Happens.”

Kate lives in Vancouver, WA with her husband, Jeff, and family.  She is a worship leader at New Heights Church in Vancouver.  She tours nationally as a solo artist, retreat speaker and worship leader and has toured in AK and various parts of the NW and CA with her band.  They lead worship and put on concerts and outreaches at different churches, festivals and venues.  In addition to this, their greatest passion has been their growing heart for the lost and marginalized.  This has led to the development of an extensive ministry into prisons and shelters as well as coming along side of other community endeavors to help those who are struggling.
