Last week, I had the privilege of spending the day with Margaret Becker, going over my artist ministry and career, discussing my passion, my heart for people and just what God has called me to do.  I can honesty say that this time was probably one of my greatest highlights as an Independent Artist thus far.  For someone of her caliber to invest time in me was life-changing.  She affirmed so much of what I am already doing, and helped me to refine what I am doing and how to be more effective. Kat Davis, her manager, also stopped by and gave me some invaluable tips on the practical side of booking and promoting my events, concerts and charitable benefits.  I highly recommend this to any of my artist friends!  Awesome!!  (This is us playing at a Calvary Chapel back in November).

Our SPA Retreat this year was amazing!  We met at the Dream Givers Inn in Newberg, OR.  Led by author, Meg Wilson and myself, the retreat offered a beautiful setting to reflect on balancing our busy lives and experience rest, worship and some new ways to experience God. Artist, Lani Kent, led women through a journey with artistic collage called Healing Expressions.  Not to mention we had great food and massage therapy provided by Ellen eAkins!  Looking forward to having our SPA retreat at the same location next year.

Right now, I'm in the Denver airport on my way to Nasvhille! It's Monday, March 23rd, and  I will be attending the CIA (Christian Independent Alliance) Summit at the end of this week, March 25-28  – This is the premier conference for Independent Artists that happens once a year.  I am SO excited to announce that I have been nominated for FEMALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR and ALBUM OF THE YEAR!  This is such an amazing honor!  I am showcasing at the Foundry on Friday night @ 9:45 p.m., so pray that God’s best would shine through me.  Check out more about this conference HERE.

I am excited to announce that I am now partnering in ministry with CIA (Christian Independent Alliance) and A.C.T. Int’l (Artists in Christian Testimony.  Over the past few years, I have been praying about starting my own non-profit to help support the work my band and I are doing in prisons, shelters, halfway houses, mental institutions, churches and other venues.  It is our heart to take the message of hope we bring through our concerts, worship and sharing to as many places as possible.  But some of the places we go into cannot pay for our services.

Under A.C.T.Int’l, we can actually form our own ministry department, raise funding for needed projects and expand the work God has given us!  And we don't have to do all the paperwork!  We feel so grateful that we were able to find an organization that is already doing what we do - supporting artists to make a lasting, missional impact on our world.  If you would like to contribute to our ministry, click here, or read more about CIA and A.C.T.
